Nicolo Zaniolo’s agent says if the midfielder has broken through for Roma this season, ‘it’s thanks to Fiorentina and Inter’.
Zaniolo joined Roma as part of the deal that took Radja Nainggolan to Inter over the summer, and the Italy starlet has gone on to face the likes of Real Madrid and the Nerazzurri, as well as earn an Azzurri call-up.
“Great game against Inter? He also did well against Real Madrid,” Stefano Castelnuovo said of the Fiorentina youth product to Radio Sportiva.
“Now he has to keep working and keep his feet on the ground. Totti’s praise was pleasing and we can only thank him. The penalty on him was blatant [against Inter] and there’s little else to add on that.
“Inter needed a readymade player and Roma want to sign the best young players, so I think the deal satisfied both parties.
“We have to thank Fiorentina and Inter if Nicolo is playing in Serie A today. It’s also because of them.
“Certain choices have been made, but we have no regrets and I want to thank everyone. His father played at a fairly-high level, so help also came from him.
“They talk every day and [Nicolo] gets the right advice. Being hungry is in his nature, so he won’t stop now.
“Market assessments are difficult to do as it’s the market that determines the price of a player.
“It depends on how many teams make enquiries, but we’ll have a clearer idea in the next few months.”
