Cagliari have no intention of losing “our best player” Nicolò Barella during the January transfer window, said President Tommaso Giulini.

The 21-year-old midfielder has already earned four senior caps for Italy thanks to his performances in Sardinia.

He caught the eye of several giants, including Inter, Juventus, Napoli, Milan, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

“In January we need to replace Lucas Castro, who will be out for the rest of the season,” President Giulini told Sky Sport Italia.
