Roma are reportedly looking to make as many as three signings in January to bolster their defence, midfield and attack.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma’s primary defensive target is Juventus stopper Daniele Rugani but failing that, they will go back in for Schalke’s Matija Nastasic.

Nastasic was heavily linked with the Giallorossi over the summer and has Serie A experience with Fiorentina, while he is ‘considered not irreplaceable’ by Schalke.

In the middle of the park, the Lupi would also have eyes on Ajax starlet Donny van de Beek and Dortmund’s Julian Weigel, as well as Hector Herrera and Adrien Rabiot.

However, the newspaper notes midfield may not be such a pressing issue, given the emergence of Nicolo Zaniolo and more so if Javier Pastore ‘recovers quickly’.

Up top, Diego Perotti could leave ‘if a favourable offer comes in’ and Patrik Schick may return to Sampdoria, whose Coach Marco Giampaolo ‘would reembrace him’.

Consequently, Il Corriere tips Domenico Berardi to replace them, the Sassuolo forward having broken through under Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco.
