Inter boss Luciano Spalletti was reportedly close to taking charge of Juventus after Antonio Conte’s exit in 2014.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Spalletti met Juve President Andrea Agnelli in May 2014, when there were the first murmurs of Antonio Conte’s discontent.
However, the newspaper explains ‘there wasn’t a spark’ between the pair at Agnelli’s home, although they are known to share ‘professional esteem’.
Juve went on to appoint Max Allegri that summer, while the then-Zenit St Petersburg Coach left Roma for Inter last year.
