The Friulani have been revitalised since Nicola took over from Julio Velazquez, keeping two clean sheets as they beat Roma and drew with Sassuolo.

“Picking up four points in two rounds boosted everyone’s confidence and our objective is to keep improving consistently,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Atalanta are right up there in Serie A in terms of quality football and intensity. We’re still in the danger zone, so must be humble and respect our opponents, even if we then have to target their weak spots to bring home precious points.

“The key to Atalanta is their intensity, as they create chance after chance. That means this will be a very open game and anything could happen.”

There are a few fitness issues for Udinese, as Valon Behrami is in doubt, with Svante Ingelsson, Lukasz Teodorczyk, Samir, Emmanuel Badu and Molla Wague out of action.

“Kevin Lasagna is in good shape and he is a fundamental player for us. He has the kind of characteristics we want to make the most of and there could be a change of role if he works with the right dedication in training.”
