“Prandelli is a person of great competence and experience, he proved that he wants to start again and resume his career. He seemed to us the right man to get the balance back for a season that started well, but fell away in recent weeks,” the director general told Sky Sport Italia.

“Juric had a very difficult fixture list to deal with. He has good ideas, but they need to be developed from the start and he was unable to bring a sense of consistency to the performances or results. Perhaps he needed more games, but we didn’t have time in our current situation.

“Now we are convinced that with Prandelli we’ll find that balance.”

With a new Coach on the bench, will Prandelli ask for January signings on the transfer market?

“We are missing a left-sided winger. Darko Lazovic is adapting to the role, but we hope to find someone next month. We’ll talk to Prandelli and then see what to do.”
