Domenico Criscito was shown a straight red card for his dangerous tackle on Pasquale Schiattarella after 11 minutes, but despite Andrea Petagna opening the scoring, Krzysztof Piatek converted a penalty to equalise.

“We dropped two points today and it’s really disappointing,” the SPAL Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We dropped two points today and it’s really disappointing,” the SPAL Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“The lads put in a good performance, as Genoa could only cause us problems on set plays and counter-attacks. We had the chances to kill the game, but didn’t make the most of them.

“In the second half, we should’ve been more determined. This was a wasted opportunity and we need to improve quickly. There have been a few too many mistakes lately and it’ll be harder to stay in Serie A, because the other teams are more competitive this season.”
