Milan are reportedly considering a January swoop for Sampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella.

According to Sport Mediaset, Milan have switched their attentions to Quagliarella after conceding defeat in their attempts to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The broadcaster explains the Rossoneri still want to bring in an experienced forward and have already held ‘exploratory talks’ with agent Beppe Bozzo.

The 35-year-old already has a combined goal and assist tally of 13 for Samp this season and is described as ‘a safe pair of hands who can help the Rossoneri solve difficult games’.

Furthermore, he would accept being third choice behind Gonzalo Higuain and Patrick Cutrone in the Diavolo’s attack.

Mediaset concludes Milan hope to sign Quagliarella on a six-month loan with the possibility of an extra season, while the Blucerchiati ‘won’t oppose to the move’ as it would free up space for Gregoire Defrel and Dawid Kownacki.
