Elseid Hysaj’s agent has confirmed that Napoli ‘forbade’ Chelsea from signing the right-back last summer.

Hysaj was heavily linked with following Maurizio Sarri to Chelsea, but Mario Giuffredi revealed only Jorginho was allowed to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

“There hasn’t been any movement, but we’ll talk about him after the January market,” he told Calcomercato.it.

“He could’ve gone to Chelsea in the summer. Sarri would’ve taken him and he has a €50m release clause.

“Maybe Napoli would’ve accepted €45m but the negotiations didn’t take off because De Laurentiis imposed a clause that forbade Chelsea from signing players other than Jorginho.”

Giuffredi then assured Andrea Conti was ‘ready’ to come back for Milan after over a year out with a serious knee injury.

“Conti’s ready, but he has to come back gradually,” he added.

“He can play for around half an hour tonight. If they give him a few minutes this month then he’ll be fully available to Gattuso after the winter break.

“However, I expected him to come on against Lazio, Parma and Torino.”
