Any deals will have to be exchanges or loans with options or obligations to buy, so Christian Kouamè of Genoa and Michy Batshuayi, who is on loan at Valencia from Chelsea, will have to wait until the summer.

Top of the list for immediate reinforcements is former Udinese and Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel, who has made only one La Liga start so far this season.

Sevilla would therefore be open to a loan deal in January, as long as there’s an option or obligation to buy.
