Roma have reportedly asked Chelsea for Michy Batshuayi on loan, interrupting his Valencia spell, if Patrik Schick leaves in January.

The 25-year-old Belgium international has 12 goals in 23 senior caps for his country, but has struggled to replicate that form at club level.

He was picked up from Olympique Marseille for €39m in 2016, then had loan experiences at Borussia Dortmund and Valencia to get more playing time.

However, he is seemingly not content at Valencia and could interrupt that deal six months early.

Batshuayi has scored only three goals in 20 competitive games for Valencia this season.

According to transfer pundit Nicolò Schira, the clubs are discussing the idea along with his agent, but it is still in the preliminary stages.

Batshuayi would only come to Roma on loan if Schick were to be farmed out in January, as he is close to his old club Sampdoria.
