Nice Coach Patrick Vieira admits they “must find a solution” for Mario Balotelli. “He was complicated to handle from the start.”
The striker has been left out of their squad for the last couple of games and won’t be called up for the next Ligue 1 game against Strasbourg either.
“I let him start his Christmas vacation a little earlier,” confessed Vieira to newspaper Nice-Matin.
“He’s still under contract, so this is not the end of his time here, but the situation is complex for him, for the club and for me.”
Balotelli has not scored a single goal for Nice this season, as he never entirely recovered from the disappointment of his abandoned move to Olympique Marseille.
“He was complicated to handle from the start,” continued Vieira.
“After the transfer was called off, he wanted to do well, but we quickly realised it would not be that easy. I will respect his contract, but we must find a solution.
“The President and directors will discuss the situation with his agent.”
