Milan’s midfield crisis has deepened, as Andrea Bertolacci pulled out of training this afternoon.

The Rossoneri have lost Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura to long-term injuries, and they may not play again this season.

To make things worse, Franck Kessié and Tiemoué Bakayoko are suspended after the 0-0 draw with Bologna on Tuesday.

Bertolacci hasn’t played a single minute in Serie A this season, but it was reported yesterday he could be called in from the cold to face Fiorentina tomorrow.

However, Sky is reporting that the Italian international pulled out of training today, and it’s unlikely he’ll be able to play tomorrow.

That increases the likelihood of Jose Mauri or Riccardo Montolivo seeing at least some game time.

Mauri has started one league game in 17 months, while Montolivo hasn’t even played a friendly since the first game of pre-season.
