Milan have fired blanks in three consecutive Serie A matches for the first time since November 2001, but the problems go deeper.

The Rossoneri have picked up only two points from three rounds, but the biggest issue is in attack.

Nobody has scored in Serie A for Milan since Franck Kessie’s penalty to beat Parma 2-1 on December 2.

A pair of 0-0 draws with Torino and Bologna provided the prelude to Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Fiorentina.

A pair of 0-0 draws with Torino and Bologna provided the prelude to Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Fiorentina.

The problem stretches further back than that, though.

Analysing the last six Serie A rounds, the Diavolo scored three goals, but only Patrick Cutrone against Parma was from open play.

Along with Kessie’s penalty against Parma, the equaliser in a 1-1 draw away to Lazio on November 25 was a Wallace own goal.

Gonzalo Higuain’s form is causing real concern, as his last Serie A goal was on October 28 in a 3-2 victory over Sampdoria.

Considering also the two-match ban, Pipita hasn’t found the net for six top flight games on the bounce.

His teammates in attack aren’t faring much better, as Suso failed to score in his last seven Serie A appearances, stretching back to Genoa on October 31.
