Former Milan striker Nikola Kalinic has won the Bidone d’Oro as worst signing of 2018, dominating the vote ahead of Patrik Schick and Andre Silva.

The ‘Golden Bin’ award is handed out to the player who has most disappointed following a Serie A transfer.

Handed out by the website Calciobidoni.it, over 13,000 people voted from a short-list of candidates including Juve-owned Marko Pjaca, Henrique Dalbert of Inter, his Nerazzurri teammate Joao Mario, ex-Juventus defender Benedikt Howedes and Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

The winner by a landslide was Kalinic, who alone got 49.1 per cent of the vote for his disastrous performances following the move from Fiorentina to Milan.

He was loaned out to Atletico Madrid this summer, while Andre Silva was sent to Sevilla and came in third with 13.3 per cent.

Dividing the Milan pair was another striker, misfiring Roma misfit Schick with 19.3 per cent of the vote.

Kalinic succeeds Gabigol, who was the 2017 winner after failing to start a single Serie A game for Inter in the wake of a €29.5m transfer.
