Sampdoria have struck a deal to sign Manolo Gabbiadini on loan with €12m obligation to buy from Southampton, claim Sky Sport Italia.
According to transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, the two clubs have agreed terms and so has the player.
It’ll be a loan to the end of the season for €3m with compulsory option to buy for another €9m.
He is expected to undergo his medical in Genoa on Friday, flying in tomorrow.
The contract runs to June 2023 and is worth €1.5m per year, including bonuses.
Real Betis were among the other clubs interested, but a return to Sampdoria proved too intriguing a draw to tun down.
The 27-year-old Italy international already played at Samp from the summer of 2013 to January 2015, when moving on to Napoli.
He has been at Southampton since January 2017 in a move worth €17m, but struggled for playing time recently.
