Roberto Mancini is aiming high with his Italy ambitions. “I dream of winning the Euros and World Cup back-to-back, with a team that always takes the initiative.”
The Azzurri CT spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport as he prepares for the first Euro 2020 qualifiers.
“We are following the path set out by Arrigo Sacchi, who changed football in exceptional fashion in the late 1980s and early 90s. I want a team that always takes the initiative and attacks consistently. We’re doing some of that now, but need to turn more of those opportunities into goals.
“Becoming the Italy Coach is something extraordinary and you need to approach it with big ambitions, for example I dream of winning the Euros and World Cup back-to-back. Some countries have managed it, I don’t see why an historic superpower of football like Italy shouldn’t follow suit. It is a dream.
