Inter director Beppe Marotta assures “fans should not worry” about Mauro Icardi’s contract. “Both parties want to continue together.”

There has been tension since Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara, who also acts as his agent, said they were “far away” from an agreement on a new deal, confirming she had received proposals from big clubs in Spain, England and Italy.

“The fans should not worry, there’s no need to talk about this as controversy,” Marotta told La Domenica Sportiva on Rai Sport.

“The fans should not worry, there’s no need to talk about this as controversy,” Marotta told La Domenica Sportiva on Rai Sport.

“These are typical dynamics in a football club, especially when approaching deadlines. There will be no problem, as both parties want to continue together and that is a common denominator that bodes well for the future.”

If Icardi were to leave Inter, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested, as well as Juventus within Serie A.

His current contract has a €110m release clause, but it is valid only for clubs abroad and can be activated between June 1-15.
