Krzysztof Piatek to Milan seems to be gaining traction as Sport Mediaset claims the Genoa striker wants to replace Gonzalo Higuain at San Siro.

It was reported on Monday morning that Milan were hoping to tempt Genoa into accepting an expensive loan deal for Piatek, and the broadcaster has gone a step further by stating the Pole is keen on the Rossoneri.

Sport Mediaset explains the 23-year-old is of the opinion that the Diavolo are the only club who would guarantee him a starting place and ‘centrality’ to their project.

That would put them ahead of Inter, who view the Piatek as a possible replacement for Mauro Icardi if he leaves, as well as Juventus and Real Madrid.

However, Mediaset agrees the stumbling block is how Milan will fund his transfer, given UEFA’s recent ruling on their spending habits and that Genoa value him at ‘around €50m’.
