Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the greatest strikers to have ever played football, but the latter part of the Brazilian’s career was blighted by issues with his weight.

“We had to weigh ourselves with Cuper every Tuesday and and Ronaldo never wanted to get on the scales,” Dalmat told RMC Sport.

“It was a psychological issue. He didn’t want to see his weight because it was something that bothered him.

“There was tension and it often ended badly. Cuper was very strict about it, but Ronaldo didn’t want to know and never did.”

The Frenchman spent two seasons with Inter between 2001 and 2003 but is considered to have never fulfilled his potential.

“I fell into depression after I stopped playing,” continued the 39-year-old.

“I had some personal problems and became a recluse. I haven’t done anything for six years.

“For now I’m having fun, but at some point I’ll have to find a job and something to do when I get up in the morning.”
