RB Leipzig insist it is ‘impossible’ for them to sign Milan attacker Hakan Calhanoglu at the prices quoted this month.
Leipzig had reportedly agreed to pay in the region of €20m for Calhanoglu and only needed Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso to give the green light to the transfer.
However, Coach and sporting director Ralf Rangnick told reporters: “The deal is financially impossible.
“Obviously we know him, given he played in the Bundesliga, but now he plays for Milan.
“We already knew his price, so it’s absolutely not possible for us to make a move from a financial standpoint.”
Nonetheless, Calciomercato.com believes Rangnick’s remarks could be a tactic to lower the Rossoneri’s valuation.
