Serie B strugglers Crotone have officially signed veteran defender Nicolas Spolli from Genoa.

A statement on Crotone’s official website confirms Spolli has arrived on loan until the end of the season and that his move will be made permanent if they avoid a second successive relegation.

The 35-year-old has spent the majority of his career in Italy with Catania, Roma, Carpi and Chievo, before joining Genoa in the summer of 2017.

However, injuries and competition for places have limited him to just seven Serie A appearances this season.
