Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso has been given a one-match touchline ban for aggressive behaviour during Wednesday’s Supercoppa.

The FIGC’s sporting judiciary ruled on Thursday that Gattuso ‘was threatening near the referee at the end’ of Milan’s 1-0 defeat, ‘protested a decision by shouting and subsequently addressed the referee with offensive and insinuating language before the award ceremony’.

Elsewhere, Franck Kessie was handed the same punishment for his VAR red card in Jeddah, as were teammate Alessio Romagnoli and Juve’s Miralem Pjanic for yellow-card accumulations.

Consequently, Gattuso, Kessie and Romagnoli will all miss the Rossoneri’s next Serie A match against Genoa on Monday, while Pjanic is suspended for the Old Lady’s visit of Chievo.
