Udinese Coach Davide Nicola tried to look beyond the 2-1 home defeat to Parma and insisted “it was a good performance.”

Stefano Okaka had equalised on his debut after the move from Watford, but Gervinho went on the counter from inside his own half to give Parma the victory.

“It was a very entertaining game and unfortunately we lost. We created chances, but were not precise enough and were punished for some of our distractions,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was a very entertaining game and unfortunately we lost. We created chances, but were not precise enough and were punished for some of our distractions,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“I can’t just focus on the result, because it was a good performance and we are growing consistently. With time, we will become quicker and therefore more effective, as we created the chances today and just didn’t finish them.

“As for the Gervinho goal, we have to take his characteristics into account and should’ve moved differently in that situation.”

Udinese brought in Okaka and Marvin Zeegelaar, but Nicola wants more reinforcements.

“The team needs to be completed, as in some areas we have very few alternatives. We’ll discuss the matter with the club.”
