“I want to see courage. We are going to Turin in order to pick up points,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We want to achieve something extraordinary and stage a coup. Since my arrival, we have been working a great deal on the mentality of the players, realising it all depends on us. It’s up to us to find the energy, strength and courage to battle anywhere, against anyone.”

Federico Barba is in doubt, while Fabrizio Cacciatore and Manuel Pucciarelli are still on the treatment table.

Chievo almost caused a huge upset in the opening round, eventually capitulating 3-2 to the reigning champions.

Since then, they have been through Coaches Lorenzo D’Anna and Giampiero Ventura, hiring Di Carlo in mid-November.

“I wasn’t there for that game, but Juventus are not the same side they were either. I think they have become stronger. We are facing a great team, but also a great friend in Max Allegri. I wish him the best in future and hope he wins the Champions League.

“When I arrived, the team was destroyed in every way, and I am not talking about the Coaches who preceded me. I just saw that we had to work on the psychological aspect and rely on the real leaders like Sergio Pellissier, Perparim Hetemaj and Stefano Sorrentino.”

This week, Chievo lost their final appeal against the three-point penalty for financial irregularities, but without it, they would be ahead of Frosinone.

“We expected to get the points back, to be honest, but it didn’t happen and that is just further motivation to do even better. I don’t want to hear excuses or complaints. I just want us to fight.”
