West Ham United have reportedly had a €35m bid rejected for Duvan Zapata and could now move for Mario Balotelli.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Atalanta knocked back West Ham’s Zapata offer, prompting the Hammers to ‘come forward with determination’ for Balotelli.
Gazzetta journalist Nicolo Schira explains Atalanta can listen to bids for the Colombian striker as they have an obligation to buy him in 2020.
The newspaper adds that while Olympique Marseille remain keen on the Nice and Italy hitman, he finds a return to the Premier League ‘alluring’.
Balotelli won the Premier League with Manchester City seven years ago but was branded a Liverpool flop during the 2014-15 campaign.
