According to Il Mattino, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has ‘a clear and very ambitious project’ for the club with Ancelotti at the helm.

The Coach only signed a three-year contract with the Partenopei last summer and has gone on to win 18 of his 27 competitive games in charge, despite overseeing an exit from the Champions League.

However, De Laurentiis would be ready to ‘arm’ the former Milan and Real Madrid boss with a renewal that would take him through to 2024.

The newspaper adds Napoli have been so impressed by the work of Ancelotti's son Davide as his assistant that they are ‘thinking about him as a potential first-team Coach’.

The 29-year-old collaborated with his father at Paris Saint-Germain, Madrid and Bayern Munich before following him to the San Paolo, while he holds a UEFA A Licence.
