Kevin Strootman has welcomed Olympique Marseille’s deal to sign Nice and Italy striker Mario Balotelli.
Balotelli could become a Marseille player on Wednesday, having arrived to complete his transfer from Nice, and Strootman was enamoured by the possibility of teaming up with his former Serie A rival.
“Is it official?” asked the ex-Roma midfielder with a smile on his face, reports L’Equipe.

“Balotelli’s a great player and very strong, I hope he comes, but the most important thing right now is our match on Friday [against Lille].
“Still, I’ll be the first person to welcome him if it becomes official.”
