Sassuolo are reportedly asking Torino if they can bring Simone Zaza back to the Mapei Stadium.
According to Sportitalia and Sport Mediaset, an approach has been made for the Italy international, who shot to fame at Sassuolo from 2013 to 2015.
He has since moved on to West Ham United – via Juventus – Valencia and joined Torino on loan with €12m option to buy this summer.
Zaza has contributed only one goal and four assists in 18 games for the Granata, between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
With Kevin-Prince Boateng making a surprise move to Barcelona yesterday, and thrown straight into the starting XI for tonight’s Copa del Rey match with Sevilla, Sassuolo need a replacement.
Zaza certainly knows Sassuolo well and formed a great partnership with Domenico Berardi.
