Inter are in negotiations with Southampton for full-back Cedric Soares, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The Nerazzurri had been tracking Matteo Darmian, but Manchester United demands of €6m for the six-month loan with €6m to buy at the end of the season put off both them and Juventus.
Now Inter have turned elsewhere in the Premier League, specifically towards 27-year-old Portugal international Soares.
He has been at Saints since 2015, when purchased from Sporting CP for €7m.
Soares has made 22 competitive appearances for the club this season, contributing one goal and two assists.
It’s believed Inter see him as an alternative to Sime Vrsaljko, whose continuing injury problems could see him returned to Atletico Madrid.
