Sassuolo Coach Roberto De Zerbi confirmed they are “studying” Benfica striker Facundo Ferreyra and Alanyaspor defender Merih Demiral.

The Neroverdi have been very active on the January market with several sales, above all Kevin-Prince Boateng to Barcelona, and need some reinforcements.

During today’s Press conference, De Zerbi was asked about rumoured interest in Ferreyra and Demiral.

“It’s true, these are among the names we are studying and are players who can fit in well here,” said the Coach.

“However, there is a game against Cagliari tomorrow and I prefer to focus on that. I am not interested in negotiations.”

Facundo Ferreyra is reported to be leaving Benfica after just six months, as he arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk as a free agent this season.

He has contributed one goal in eight competitive appearances for the club.

As for Demiral, he is a centre-back who turns 21 in March and is still owned by Sporting CP, although Alanyaspor can activate their option to buy and then sell him on at a better price.
