Musacchio: 'Perfect Milan defence'

Mateo Musacchio felt Milan put in a “perfect defensive performance” to secure a 0-0 draw against Napoli.

Goals were expected when the Partenopei started Dries Mertens, Lorenzo Insigne, Jose Callejon and Arkadiusz Milik together.

“Napoli are such a strong side, we needed a perfect defensive performance to bring home a point,” Musacchio told DAZN.

“We played well and it was important for us to keep a clean sheet.”

In the second half, new €35m buy Krzysztof Piatek came on for his Milan debut and could well feature more heavily in the Coppa Italia quarter-final against Napoli on Tuesday.

“The new signings are strong, as Lucas Paquetá is doing great things and Piatek already proved at Genoa what he can do.

“Now we’ll rest and focus on the Coppa Italia from tomorrow.”
