“We have a problem with penalties, evidently,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“I’d happily trade a penalty for three corners. We often live our games on the rollercoaster, but today our first half was – also thanks to Roma – awful. We allowed them too many spaces and they’d score every time after our wasted chance, because we’d get the transitions completely wrong. That’s unusual for us.
“It took a great Atalanta performance to get this back on track. We were very precise and in the end felt some regrets that we didn’t win it.”
Josip Ilicic was having one of his off days, continually giving the ball away and wasting chances.
“He lacked some of the quality that we usually see from him, but we can’t expect players to always do the right thing, as they are human. I hope they’ll do something right eventually! That’s the spirit of Duvan, as he missed a penalty and immediately ran up there to score. He didn’t sit there with his head down sulking.”
