Newcastle United have officially signed former Italy Under-21 left-back Antonio Barreca from Monaco.
A statement on Newcastle's official website confirms Barreca has joined on loan with an option to buy, reportedly set at €9m.
The Magpies went back in for the 23-year-old after a deal for Lazio’s Jordan Lukaku fell through.
Barreca began his career at Torino, making 39 appearances for the Granata, before joining Monaco last summer.
