Former Roma and Italy defender Christian Panucci has been put forward as a possible successor to Eusebio Di Francesco.

Calciomercato.com cites a report in Friday’s edition of Il Messaggero and adds the track that leads Panucci back to Roma will become ‘hot’ in the event Di Francesco is dismissed.

The Giallorossi boss is under increasing pressure at the Olimpico and could lose his job if they lose at Milan on Sunday.

Panucci, for his part, made over 300 appearances for the Lupi between 2001 and 2009, winning the Coppa Italia twice.
