The Nerazzurri are struggling badly so far in 2019, failing to score a single goal in two Serie A games and crashing out of the Coppa Italia quarter-final with Lazio.

“It’s not the first time we have reached January and went into this dip, a visible relaxing of focus and drop in concentration levels. It’s not easy to find the real reason, I expect they’ll know what it is within the club,” Moratti told Rai Sport.

There have been reports Spalletti could be fired, with former Italy, Juventus and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte in the frame.

“At this moment it’s not easy to find good Coaches in circulation, so why change Spalletti right now?” asked Moratti.

“I don’t know where they could get a tactician who is both talented and has some Inter DNA. There’s Diego Simeone of Atletico Madrid, but Conte is also a fine Coach. Spalletti was good too, the important thing is that great Coaches get results when they are here at Inter.”
