Francesco Caputo feels Empoli “could’ve won, but we take the point and go forward, considering” they were 2-0 down to Chievo.

Caputo bagged a brace either side of half-time to complete the comeback in this 2-2 draw.

“It’s a result that leaves us bitter, because we could’ve won. I think we put in a great performance, but unfortunately at the moment we pay a heavy price for every minor distraction,” the striker told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s a result that leaves us bitter, because we could’ve won. I think we put in a great performance, but unfortunately at the moment we pay a heavy price for every minor distraction,” the striker told Sky Sport Italia.

“We fought back and at one stage looked as if we could win it, but we have to take the point and go forward, considering the way things were going in the first half.

“Fortunately, we scored that goal right on the stroke of half-time and that gave us the belief to get back into it, so we made it 2-2 early into the second half.”

Empoli have managed only two points in their last seven Serie A matches.

“We are playing well and just aren’t winning games, so evidently we’ve got to give it a bit more.”
