Marco Giampaolo had Sampdoria “regrets” after a 3-0 defeat to Napoli, as “a goal would’ve ensured they weren’t so comfortable.”

The Blucerchiati beat them 3-0 earlier this season, but the Partenopei took revenge at the Stadio San Paolo.

“If we’d been able to score a goal, we would’ve caused Napoli a lot more problems and ensured they weren’t so comfortable,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“If we’d been able to score a goal, we would’ve caused Napoli a lot more problems and ensured they weren’t so comfortable,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“There’s not much to say other than that, as Napoli are stronger than we are and this changes nothing. Napoli did really well to make the most of our positioning errors, while we made a few too many mistakes on the wings.

“The regrets we have are not being able to score at least one to put some pressure on Napoli and open it up again.”

Giampaolo was asked about Napoli confirmation Hamsik is leaving after 12 years for a new experience in China.

“He added quality to Napoli’s moves from the middle of the park, but there comes a time in life when people can make other decisions.”
