Inter’s biggest problem is in front of goal, as for the first time since 1956 they have failed to score in the opening three Serie A games of the year.
The Nerazzurri have managed one point in three 2019 league matches, a 0-0 draw with Sassuolo, followed by 1-0 defeats to Torino and Bologna.
Most notably, both goals were conceded by headers on corners – and these are the only times all season in Serie A that Inter have let goals in from those situations.
Opta point out this is the first time since 1956 that Inter have fired blanks in each of their first three Serie A games of the calendar year.
The reliance on Mauro Icardi is also proving to be an issue, because the Argentine hasn’t scored in six rounds, his longest ever drought in the Inter jersey.
