Cagliari midfielder Valter Birsa fractured the radius and ulna in his left arm during a bizarre incident in the defeat to Atalanta.
The former Chievo man was seemingly bumped into by Jose Luis Palomino, who made a diving header to clear the ball.
He must’ve caught his forearm at just the wrong angle, as it caused a fracture of the radius and ulna.
The diagnosis was confirmed with an X-Ray and it is not clear how long it’ll take for the Slovenia international to fully recover.
He may well be able to play with the aid of a protective cast, but that could create safety issues not just for him, but also his opponnets.
