Roberto De Zerbi insists Sassuolo will “take the initiative and play with courage, joy and positivity” against leaders Juventus today.
It kicks off at 17.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.
“We are taking on the champions of Italy, the strongest side in the country, but we must still focus on our own strengths and courage, trying to limit our errors,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“Sassuolo must always take the initiative and play with courage, joy and positivity. I believe that a win with a bad performance, such as the one we got against Chievo, can happen once, but mustn’t become a habit. I see good football as the right path to results.”
Alfred Duncan is suspended with Marlon injured, but Francesco Magnanelli recovered quicker than expected and January signing Merih Demiral gets his first call-up.
Juventus are without Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Juan Cuadrado at the Mapei Stadium, while Andrea Barzagli isn’t fit to start.
“We managed to limit Mauro Icardi at San Siro, so we can do the same with Cristiano Ronaldo. However, we won’t base our entire approach on limiting the opposition, as we have to take action when we’ve got the ball.
“I want to see us show the ambition to fight it out with everyone, but also not lose contact with reality, which is that we’ve achieved nothing yet and still need to look over our shoulders.”
