Napoli loanee Lorenzo Tonelli has warned Sampdoria that he will be forced to ‘look for another club’ if he does not play more regularly.

Tonelli joined Samp on loan with an option to buy last summer and started 12 of their opening 17 Serie A games.

However, the defender has been benched for five of the last six, prompting him to speak out.

“Is my future still at Sampdoria? This must be seen to,” he told reporters.

“I still have to see what the clubs decide on. In Naples it’s said Samp aren’t playing me so they can buy me for less? I call that politics.

“I don’t know if it’s true or not, but as a player I’m only thinking about training, and if I’m called into action, giving my all on the pitch.

“That’s the only thing I have to do. I want to find a solution that suits my family and I. I want to find a club who give me confidence.

“If that’s Sampdoria then great, if it isn’t then I’ll look for another club.”
