Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed Marek Hamsik’s transfer to Dalian Yifang. “He’s gone.”

De Laurentiis’ admission comes just hours after Napoli lawyer Mattia Grassani told Radio Kiss Kiss that Hamsik had ‘become’ a Dalian player on Wednesday evening.

“Hamsik’s gone,” he told reporters in Zurich ahead of the Partenopei’s Europa League last-32 first leg on Thursday evening.

“Is it a ’goodbye’ or ‘see you later’? It depends on him. I hope we can give him a proper send-off when the Chinese season is on break. For now it’s unofficial.”

De Laurentiis later tweeted: “An agreement with Dalian has been reached. I wish Marek happiness in China. Napoli’s doors will always be open to him.”

The Chinese club will reportedly pay €20m for the midfielder, who is thought to have agreed a contract worth €27m over three seasons.
