Stefano Pioli must do without injured German Pezzella and Kevin Mirallas, but both Marko Pjaca and Giovanni Simeone are benched in favour of Gerson in a more advanced role.

Chiesa takes the captain’s armband in the absence of Pezzella, with Nikola Milenkovic and Marco Benassi available again after suspension.

Vincent Laurini is only fit for the bench, so Federico Ceccherini gets the nod at right-back.

SPAL have Simone Missiroli suspended, with Bosko Jankovic injured, so Mirko Valdifiori is drafted in to the midfield.

They seem to move to a 4-4-2 formation with Mohamed Fares at left-back, Manuel Lazzari and Jasmin Kurtic wide behind Petagna and Mirco Antenucci.

It’s a special game for both SPAL Coach Leonardo Semplici and goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano, who are passionate Fiorentina fans.
