Marco Giampaolo believes Sampdoria “certainly did not deserve to lose” 2-1 to Inter and was “particularly angry” with the referee.

The Blucerchiati had cancelled out Danilo D’Ambrosio’s opener with a Manolo Gabbiadini strike, but Radja Nainggolan fired in the winner from the edge of the box.

“Considering the way we played today, we certainly did not deserve to lose,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Considering the way we played today, we certainly did not deserve to lose,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We cannot be satisfied, because that performance warranted at least a point. I am particularly angry because on the winning Inter goal, there was a foul in our favour on Albin Ekdal after the Dalbert throw-in.

“We were not cynical, not sneaky enough, and you need that at San Siro, because there are ball boys who are trained to resume the move quickly.

“I thought we had a good game both on the ball and off it, but were perhaps a little imprecise in front of goal. Samp put in a great performance today and it’s a pity about the result.”
