SPAL have confirmed that Coach Leonardo Semplici underwent abdominal surgery on Monday evening.
A statement on SPAL’s official website writes Semplici was subjected to the ‘urgent’ procedure in Florence, which went ‘perfectly successfully’.
It now remains to be seen whether the 51-year-old will recover in time for the Biancazzurri’s trip to Sassuolo in Serie A this weekend.
