The Blucerchiati are in dire need of a boost after three consecutive defeats saw them slide down the table.

“We must win to remain on the trail of teams with European ambitions, but that means action and not just words,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We are called to put in a great performance to keep our dream alive. Let nobody take a step back or let go now.”

Gaston Ramirez, Gianluca Caprari, Edgar Barreto and Lorenzo Tonelli are injured, with Karol Linetty suspended, leaving precious few options.

“I have never complained about players who are missing and I won’t start now, as I think that is a lack of respect towards those who are playing. It cannot be an alibi, because in order to cultivate a certain type of ambition, we need to grow in terms of mentality.

“Samp must have the ambition of competing something that really matters. The only way to wash off a poor result is with a great performance.

“The team believes in our chances of making it into Europe and I believe too. I maintain this side should be challenging for that objective to the very end of the season, as we’ve got what it takes. The step up in quality is all about mentality, in dealing with pressure.”
