Former Milan and Italy striker Alberto Gilardino has been promoted to the role of head Coach by Serie D side Rezzato.
In a reshuffle at the non-League club, Gilardino – who had been assistant coach – takes over from Luca Prina, who has been demoted to a supervisory position.
However, Giornale di Brescia reports the pair have effectively swapped roles as Prina will ‘support’ the 36-year-old on his first managerial adventure.

Rezzato have never played League football but are fifth in Serie D Girone B and on course to qualify for the Serie C playoffs.
Gilardino, who helped Italy win the World Cup in 2006, retired from football in September to focus on coaching.
