Reported Inter target Alessio Cragno has insisted that ‘I’m only thinking about Cagliari. I don’t care about the rest.’
Cragno has long been touted to replace Samir Handanovic as Inter’s No 1, but the 24-year-old made it clear Cagliari were his priority ahead of the two sides’ Serie A clash on Saturday.
“Now I’m only thinking about Cagliari. I don’t care about the rest,” he told L’Unione Sarda.
“Survival and improvement come first, both on a personal level and as a team. After that we’ll see.
“Cagliari step by step? Not at all. When I came here, I had just a season in Serie B behind me. It was a point of arrival and even departure,
“I had to prove I could play for Cagliari and in Serie A. I still treat it as a crucial step in my career. I have to give my best.”
Four defeats in five games have left the Sardinians just six points above the relegation zone…
“We mustn’t fear anyone,” added the shot-stopper.
“Cagliari must be Cagliari, with the right attitude. I think the best Cagliari came in the first 40 minutes against Parma, playing with all that malice and willingness to help one another.
“We came from a difficult run of form, but overall we had a good first half to the season. We must be compact and stick together.
“Only by doing that can we save ourselves. Injuries can’t be an excuse. We must all have the same attitude to achieve our objective.”
