Mattia Caldara returned to the field in a Milan jersey, albeit for the youth team, after five and a half months on the treatment table.
The former Atalanta defender hadn’t played since September 20, against Dudelange in the Europa League.
He had already missed much of the season with muscular issues, then suffered a partial lesion of the Achilles tendon in October.
Caldara stepped out in the starting XI of today’s Milan Primavera team this morning, a standard first step towards full recovery.
Now that Andrea Conti is back in the first team, he hopes former Atalanta teammate Caldara can join him shortly.
